Duties & Taxes (for clients in the US)

Artwork by Despina ships from Canada via Canada Post. If you are ordering from the US, you may be charged duties and taxes. We cannot give you an estimate of the cost for this because the cost varies. 

Please note that Artwork by Despina is not liable for any products that have been damaged or lost during shipping. If you have received your order damaged, please contact the shipment carrier to file a claim. 

Processing and Production

For original paintings and greeting cards, please allow 3 business days of processing time. You will receive a notification when your order ships. 

For commissioned work, please allow 4-6 weeks of production time. This production time accounts for time it takes to communicate with you about your custom piece as well as time it takes to make your painting. Artwork by Despina values communication and reaches out to you to understand what your vision is so that it is brought to life. We make every effort to communicate with clients that are commissioning work to ensure that along the creative process, you are approving the design and look of the painting. We work very closely with clients to ensure that their vision is realized and pictures are sent to you along the process via email provided in the contact page. We listen carefully to your wants and preferences and can make adjustments during the creation process. Once you have approved the painting however, no further adjustments can be made. The painting is then coated with 2 coats of varnish and prepared for shipping. 

You will receive a notification when your order ships.  

For prints, please allow 5-7 business days of production time. Despina's supplier who carefully prints these made to order fine art prints carefully inspects each print to ensure a high quality product. You will receive a notification when your order ships. 

All fine art prints are shipped in a cardboard cylinder via Canada Post. Please be aware that you may need to flatten them prior to framing. This video by "Kim K" is a good example of how to flatten a print from a cardboard cylinder:  https://youtu.be/oGkh4R4z1pY. 

Please note that if Artwork by Despina is required to re-ship a package to you, you will be charged the cost of shipping.
